Valhalla Vest

Just finished my first 100miler run using the vest, and it was flawless! Lightweight materials mean it’s not a limiter for long distances and also helps you stay cool under the canopy’s or direct sun. The stretch compression material allows for very comfortable sinching down for the right fit preventing bounce. Also the seam construction is also incredible and prevents chaffing. Typically after 50miles wearing a vest you’d get some signs of heat spots and race ending chaffing, not with the Valhalla!

There was plenty of storage pockets in the front and zip pockets for all my race needs; gels and bars, phone with charging bank, headlamps, caps, sleeves, ice bandanas as well as the open pocket and another large zip pocket in the back, so that everything was nicely organized and easily reachable.

Lastly the water bottles and storage for the 3rd is incredible. These high volume flasks are longer and slimmer than usual which is far better for easier sliding in/out of the pockets for refills. I received many compliments from aid station volunteers who didn’t need to stuff them in like other vest pockets. Then the back pocket water storage allows you to confidently know that you have reserve fluids there should you need it and you honestly forget it’s there!

I’ve took this vest on many many +25mi long runs and not pushed it through my first 100, and honestly can say that I’ve had zero vest failures or chaffing in the past 5months of use.

I'd like to start off by saying that I am a running belt lover and short pocket stuffer (thank you sendero shorts!) will always try to make those work before reaching for a vest. But this vest has changed my mind! I was a bit skeptical about the white colour - but it's easy to clean and honestly looks pretty cool. I own a BD 8L distance vest/pack and it bounces all over when not packed full. Comparatively, the Valhalla vest fits and carries well when going light or packing it to it's max capacity. I bought the vest for a 50k ultra that required long stretches between aid stations in the heat. I can easily carry my excessive amount of gels, 2L of water, mandatory race gear, and any extra items for a long day on the trail. I love the bungee cord system and how it does not leave dangling strings out. Who knew a trash pocket would be such a game changer?! I purchased a size small and found the fit to be perfect (bust 35.5, waist 28.5).

I've run over 500 miles in the Terignota vest and I can honestly say it's the best running vest I've used. I often run in just a sports bra, and it doesn't cause any chafing. It has four zippered pockets that keep all of your valuables secure and even when it's fully loaded it doesn't bounce. You can tell this vest was designed by someone who actually runs because every detail is well thought out.

Love love this vest! I spent more than double the amount for another vest and while it was great, this one is just WAY BETTER! Lightweight and breathable and just fits my petite frame just right! I've been trail/ultra running for 10 years and have had a handful of run vests (UD, Rab) during that time. This one is by far the best! Supremely comfortable, I've had it out on several long runs now up to 6 hours with no pressure points/chafe/discomfort (shirt on fwiw). The material is light, stretchy, and soft. I'm a fan of the white. Plenty of storage space both front and back, though I haven't yet even needed to use the side pockets. While the bottle pockets are designed for the longer/narrower bottles, I've been able to fit a mostly-full 0.6L Katadyn flask+filter in one without much hassle. The load distribution is very well engineered particularly with 2 full bottles up front and 2 more in the rear pass-through pocket. Very little bounce present in any full/empty bottle combination both front and back.

The attention to detail is superb across the board. The tension adjusters are clever. The chest "straps" are thick enough to work but stretchy enough to not restrict breathing, and the simple hook closures are very functional. The lower rear pass-through pocket openings on either side are slightly sewn shut on the lower portion of the openings to prevent items from sliding out sideways (just the right amount of room to put a bottle in though). Details like this really elevate the vest.

I have a 44" chest (male) and had to abandon my recently acquired Rab vest because it was too restrictive even in the largest size. I feel right in the middle of the size XL adjustment range on the Valhalla, no uncomfortable chest tension at all even with full bottles up front. Props to Terignota for making a vest that works for larger bodies! It would be cool to even see another size up as I bet there are other folks in that size range who would be psyched to use this vest.

The only real downside I've discovered so far, apart from some slight un-stitching happening at the top of the rear zipper (very minor), is the lack of a built in pole carry option. I haven't tried putting them in the pass-through pocket, but I suspect it would be a bit awkward given the feature I mentioned above. However, at $90 (including 2 locking flasks!!), the addition of a $30 pole quiver still puts the grand total under what many other vests on the market cost. So, not really a big deal.

I highly recommend this vest. Pro tip, adding a 3rd locking soft flask put me just over the free shipping threshold, so I basically got an extra bottle for the same cost as the stock option+shipping. Get in on that deal while it's still around!
