from 660 reviewsI've used a lot of shorts, but these are some of the most comfortable and have the most storage of any I've tried. The built-in belt is roomy and holds gels, fruit snacks, soft flasks, my keys, and the extra pocket for my phone is incredible. They fit true-to-size and have very little bounce, even when loaded.
Are they perfect? Not quite. My 500ml soft flasks has to squeeze into the belt compartments, or I have to leave them a little underfilled. And I got a little chafing from my phone on a particularly hot and long run. But I still reach for these shorts for most of my runs, I just use a little more balm on my lower back if the weather is super hot and/or humid.
They perform better than shorts that cost 3x their price. A must-have piece if you carry gear on your runs, whether that's on the road or on the trail.
You would think these are $100+ shorts! I initially ordered a size too small from what i should have (i like a loose fit) and was able to easily exchange for the correct size due to Alex's great and efficient customer service. Now that I have the correct size they are great! super light weight and breathable, very comfortable liner. Almost forget they are even there while running. The storage in the belt is great to keep me hands free and the draw string is great to keep them in place but also comfortable around your waist. Great for running and look great, so can they are perfect to wear for anything you do on hot days. Started with 2 but will definitely be ordering more.
Love the fit (XL) to fit over layers. I’m 6’ and 195lbs and have room for a sweatshirt or light down under it. Super packable and easy to bring with me on the trail or around town.
Great material and light fabric. The line feels right and also works well with a separate liner.
Use it for all my long runs.
Wish the waistband pocket material was a little tighter, as phone and contents tend to bounce more than expected during runs.
Use an inner liner short with a hip pocket for my phone to get around that.
I often find half tights to be too thick/warm, but the Tahoma is breathable and comfortable while also providing good compression. The pockets are low-profile, but still have plenty of capacity. The overall fit and length are great for me!
These are amazing! The grip tape on the bottom keeps them in place. This length in other tights that don’t have the grip tape is always hard because the material rides up and moves as you sweat. Excited to see how these hold up in a run longer than an hour. I love the back pocket for the phone. Really like that I can tighten the shorts on the side too. I tried on the small and the medium and ended up going with the small. I’m 5’7” with normal human thighs if that helps anyone!
I've been trail/ultra running for 10 years and have had a handful of run vests (UD, Rab) during that time. This one is by far the best! Supremely comfortable, I've had it out on several long runs now up to 6 hours with no pressure points/chafe/discomfort (shirt on fwiw). The material is light, stretchy, and soft. I'm a fan of the white. Plenty of storage space both front and back, though I haven't yet even needed to use the side pockets. While the bottle pockets are designed for the longer/narrower bottles, I've been able to fit a mostly-full 0.6L Katadyn flask+filter in one without much hassle. The load distribution is very well engineered particularly with 2 full bottles up front and 2 more in the rear pass-through pocket. Very little bounce present in any full/empty bottle combination both front and back.
The attention to detail is superb across the board. The tension adjusters are clever. The chest "straps" are thick enough to work but stretchy enough to not restrict breathing, and the simple hook closures are very functional. The lower rear pass-through pocket openings on either side are slightly sewn shut on the lower portion of the openings to prevent items from sliding out sideways (just the right amount of room to put a bottle in though). Details like this really elevate the vest.
I have a 44" chest (male) and had to abandon my recently acquired Rab vest because it was too restrictive even in the largest size. I feel right in the middle of the size XL adjustment range on the Valhalla, no uncomfortable chest tension at all even with full bottles up front. Props to Terignota for making a vest that works for larger bodies! It would be cool to even see another size up as I bet there are other folks in that size range who would be psyched to use this vest.
The only real downside I've discovered so far, apart from some slight un-stitching happening at the top of the rear zipper (very minor), is the lack of a built in pole carry option. I haven't tried putting them in the pass-through pocket, but I suspect it would be a bit awkward given the feature I mentioned above. However, at $90 (including 2 locking flasks!!), the addition of a $30 pole quiver still puts the grand total under what many other vests on the market cost. So, not really a big deal.
I highly recommend this vest. Pro tip, adding a 3rd locking soft flask put me just over the free shipping threshold, so I basically got an extra bottle for the same cost as the stock option+shipping. Get in on that deal while it's still around!
In summary, I started with a women's medium Sendero and exchanged for a Women's large and a Men's medium - both of which I love. I am 5'6", 130-135 lbs with a 24" waist and 38" hips (each thigh is 20").
To compare, in Athleta clothing I wear a S/ 4 in all pants and a medium in their running shorts.
W's med waist was great, my preference is more space for forward motion of my legs. The fabric is feather light and there are leg slits, so it was fine. After the exchange(thank you Alex!) W's large waist is big on me, and I tie the drawstring. The M's med waist is high waisted and a great fit - the length is 2" longer that the W's Sendero. Both are excellent for me; I'll wear the W's for trail runs and the longer Men's for hiking.
I'll upload pics later for visual comparison.
I have several pairs and they are great. Not factoring in the great price the fabric and quality are top notch. I would not have any hesitation recommending these.
Huge fan of these shorts - amazing pricepoint and solid design. I’ve purchased 3 pairs, one in each color.
I loved the women's version but wanted another color. I don't mind a longer short so I just decided to try the men's. I actually really like it as much as the women's. I was worried the crotch/front might fit weird but it actually is fine. I'm 5'0'' with a 25" waist and 36" hips. The women's S fit well, and the Men's XS works great too. (Pics are the Men's)
Very comfortable, lots of pockets along the waist, draw string to tighten them, dries fast & no chafing! The customer service is on point! Fast response when I needed to size down & fast shipping. The price point is unbeatable!!
